UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital is seeking a Full Time Transporter/Cardiac to support the Transport department!

This role will work evening shifts 2:00pm to 10:30pm and rotate holidays and weekends. Hours are subject to change based on business needs .

The Transporter/Cardiac conducts electrocardiographic tests on patients of the UPMC Health System for diagnostic purposes. This role delivers medical supplies, equipment and materials to various areas within UPMC.

Responsibilities:

• Interact with electrocardiographic management, Clinicpac and Medipac systems via terminal to cancel/complete patient charges as appropriate, verify and/or correct patient demographic information and retrieve EKGs for staff members as requested.
• Attach electrodes to the patient’s chests, arms and legs, connect electrodes to leads from the electrocardiogram (EKG) machine and operate the EKG machine to obtain a reading.
• Delivers supplies, equipment, medication and other materials to the patient units, and other designated areas in a safe, timely, and accurate manner. Ensures that a handoff of medication occurs with the nurse.
• Safely transfer patients in and out of hospital bed.
• Transport patients, adjunct equipment, supplies, specimens and morgue patients via prescribed vehicles between the patient units, treatment centers, and other designated areas in a safe, timely and accurate manner.
