We are so glad you are interested in joining Sutter Health! **Organization:** EMC - Eden Medical Center **Position Overview:** Responsible for accurate preparation and coding of accounts for billing. Knowledge of hospital contracts. Provides expeditious and assertive follow-up with all third party payors. **Job Description** : **JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES** Assumes responsibility for all accounts within one or more pay classes. Researches all information either electronically or by direct data entry, to complete the billing process in a timely manner. Processes and distributes copies of billings as required. Answers all inquiries regarding patient accounts. Makes written and/or verbal inquiries to third party payors to collect patient accounts within established timeframes. Resolves credit balance accounts in a timely manner. Maintains professional interpersonal working relationships with managers, patients, visitors, co-workers, staff physicians and the general public. **EDUCATION** _Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma._ HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience **PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:** 1 year previous experience, preferably in a hospital business office. **SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE** Knowledge of medical/insurance billing procedures; including but not limited to Medicare. **Job Shift:** Days **Schedule:** Short Hour **Shift Hours:** 8 **Days of the Week:** Monday, Variable **Weekend Requirements:** As Needed **Benefits:** No **Unions:** Yes **Position Status:** Non-Exempt **Weekly Hours:** 8 **Employee Status:** Short Hour Sutter Health is an equal opportunity employer EOE/M/F/Disability/Veterans.
