Location & Work Arrangement

• City, State: Clemson, South Carolina
• Work Arrangement: 100% Remote . (Candidate must reside in the continental U.S. and be comfortable working EST time zone hours.)
• Contract: This is a Contract position.
• Mode of Interview: 1 round, phone.
• On-Call: Participation in the On Call rotation is a requirement .

Essential Expertise and Scope of Work

The Programmer will work collaboratively with the Medicaid services MMIS and MEDS Teams, focusing on making precise and documented code changes, and providing support across the testing phases.

1. Core Mainframe Programming (5+ Years Required)

• Programming Languages: Extensive experience with Mainframe, MVS COBOL , and JCL (5+ years each).
• Database: Deep experience with the IDMS Database , including both IDMS/Network and IDMS Relational Database structures (5+ years).
• Code Implementation: Make coding changes to Cobol and ADS programs based on technical and design specifications.
• Development Lifecycle: Responsible for Debug, unit test, and integration test coding changes.

2. System Support and Collaboration

• Testing Support: Support Quality Assurance (QA) staff during QA, User Acceptance (UAT) , and External Testing by making needed coding changes quickly.
• Project Scope: Work on backfill on production systems and potentially on smaller, short-term projects (DASH, Disaster Recovery Project, EPS).
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with customers, development staff, operational staff, and QA staff.

3. Preferred Tools and Domain

• Change Management: Experience with Changeman is highly preferred.
• Programming Utilities: Familiarity with TSO/ADS and File-Aid is preferred.
• Reporting/Tracking: Experience with SAS and the Footprints tracking system is preferred.
• Domain Experience: Previous experience working within Medicaid or similar large government health systems is highly preferred.
