Responsibilities

A clinic in southwest Connecticut, about 1-hour from New York City, with an opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide locum Urgent Care coverage.

Opening Overview:

• Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 3-4 days/week, flexible scheduling

• No call

• EMR: ECW

• Support Staff: 2 MDs, 1:4 MD to APP ratio

• 1-2 years of emergency medicine experience required

• Must be board-certified

• Paid travel & lodging

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

• ​​​Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

• National Institutes of Health (NIH)

• Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.

• Active unencumbered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant North Carolina state license

• Graduate from a fully accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program

• One year of work experience as a Urgent Care Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

• One year of ECW experience

• Board Certified

SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

• Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.

• Participates in relevant continuing education programs.

• Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.

• Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.

• A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.

• Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
