Job Description

Job Summary:
The Elevator Maintenance Inspector is responsible for conducting once per month inspections, maintenance, and preventive care for elevators and dumbwaiters. The role ensures all equipment operates safely and efficiently while adhering to relevant safety codes, standards, and manufacturers' specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform monthly checks on elevator systems.
• Conduct inspections to identify potential issues, ensuring compliance with ASME A17.1 and ASME A17.2 standards.
• Provide detailed reports of inspections.
• Maintain logs and documentation for all inspections and maintenance activities.
• Respond to emergency service requests as required.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in elevator maintenance and inspection.
• Certification or training in elevator safety and maintenance (e.g., ASME A17.1, A17.2 standards).
• Strong knowledge of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems related to elevators.
• Familiarity with safety regulations, including ANSI/NFPA 70 National Electrical Code.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics.

Skills and Abilities:

• Attention to detail with a commitment to safety and compliance.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and reports.
• Good communication skills for reporting and coordination.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Manufacturer-specific training for elevator systems.
• Prior experience in a healthcare or high-security facility.

Working Conditions:

• Must be able to work in confined spaces and at heights.
• May involve exposure to dust, grease, and other maintenance-related conditions.
