Job Overview:
GD Resources is seeking a qualified Catholic Music Director to provide music support for the Catholic Worship Community at Buckley Space Force Base Chapel . The Music Director will be responsible for coordinating, rehearsing, and leading music for weekly worship services, rehearsals, and special liturgies in collaboration with the Catholic Priest or designated representative.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and direct music for Catholic worship services, including traditional hymns and liturgical music.
• Lead the congregation and choir in worship through singing and instrumental accompaniment.
• Organize and lead rehearsals weekly and for special liturgies.
• Collaborate with the Catholic Priest to select appropriate music for services.
• Ensure proper setup and maintenance of sound systems and musical instruments.
• Train and oversee volunteers involved in the music ministry.
• Submit necessary purchase/repair requests for musical instruments and equipment.
• Maintain a professional environment and positive working relationships with chapel staff and volunteers.
• Comply with copyright regulations and ensure proper licensing for music use.
• Adhere to security and facility protocols, ensuring chapel spaces are secured after use.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of college in music performance or a related field, or equivalent experience in a chapel/church setting.
• Experience in Catholic liturgical music and ability to sight-read, improvise, and accompany using piano, keyboard, or guitar .
• Strong vocal ability to lead congregational singing.
• Experience leading choirs and coordinating rehearsals.
• Familiarity with sound system operation and troubleshooting .
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clergy and volunteers.
• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English .

Additional Requirements:

• Must pass a criminal history background check , especially if working with minors.
• Availability for weekly services, rehearsals, and special liturgies .
• Compliance with base access procedures and security protocols.
• Ability to submit invoices for services through the Wide-Area Workflow System .

Schedule & Compensation:

• Estimated 129 sessions per year , including weekly services, rehearsals, and special liturgies .
• Specific schedule will be coordinated with the Catholic Priest.
