Trauma, Surgical Critical Care and Acute Care Surgeon

Surgical Care Specialists is seeking a BC/BE trauma surgeon to join our busy private surgical practice at Jefferson Abington Hospital located in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Surgical Care Specialists is a 9-physician group comprised of general, trauma, and critical care surgeons. The Trauma / Surgical Critical Care Surgeon will be responsible for coverage of acute care surgery, trauma and surgical critical care at Jefferson Abington Hospital.
Jefferson Abington Hospital is a regional referral center with 665 beds and over 30,000 inpatient admissions each year and is a flagship hospital of Thomas Jefferson University’s Jefferson Health Corporation. Jefferson Abington Hospital is an accredited Level 2 Trauma Center by the Pennsylvania Trauma System Foundation and treats more than 2300 trauma patients annually. In addition to the Trauma and Surgical Critical Care Unit, the hospital provides a dedicated add-on room for acute care surgery during the week. Jefferson Abington Hospital has a General Surgery Residency Program with 31 surgical residents.

Qualified candidates must be a graduate of an accredited School of Medicine (Allopathic/Osteopathic) and must have the following credentials:
• Completion of an accredited General Surgery Residency Program
• Completion of an accredited Trauma/Surgical Critical Care Fellowship
• Possess or be able to obtain an unrestricted PA Medical License and DEA License
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care
