SAIC is seeking a Principal IT Systems Engineer in support of Operational C2 Acquisition Delta priorities to deliver integrated Ops Space C2 capabilities. You will play a crucial role in providing recommendations to deliver integrated Ops Space Command and Control (C2) capabilities.

This team is responsible for the software lifecycle, and deployment of USSF Cloud Initiatives, designed to streamline performance, reduce administrative overhead and workload, and deliver a seamless user experience with our customers. We are looking for talent primarily in Vandenberg, California, El Segundo, California and Colorado Springs, Colorado for hybrid remote work situation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical expertise to the program Infrastructure and Platform Teams.
• Serve as Liaison between Software Programs leveraging the Operation C2 enterprise and the Operational C2 Infrastructure, and Platform Teams.
• Support the transition from existing on premises hardware and cloud solutions to modernized hybrid cloud infrastructure.
• Implement virtualization and hybrid cloud technical solutions given an architect’s vision, while enabling all other components to provide a holistic capability.
• Provide technical support and document customer requirements and support issue resolution

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and nine (9)+ years or more of related experience in systems integration and automation within a DevOps culture
• Active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance; must be a current US Citizen
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., C++, Python, Java, Go) and strong familiarity with modern development frameworks and tools
• Expertise in integrating software with hardware systems, network infrastructure, and cloud-based solutions such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Extensive experience in cloud-native architectures, microservices, and distributed system design and familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong understanding of software security best practices and the ability to implement secure software solutions across integrated systems
• Knowledge of cloud security frameworks (e.g., Zero Trust Architecture)

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with DevOps practices, infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible), and CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with Agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and the ability to drive high-quality, iterative development
• Knowledge of network protocols, real-time systems, and experience with embedded systems is a plus
• Scripting Experience: PowerShell and VBScript
• Experience with Infrastructure as code technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, etc

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
