Job Description

The Hinson lab is seeking multiple independent, highly motivated PhD-level scientists to join our expanding team that seeks to identify new mechanisms and treatments for inheritable and acquired forms of heart failure using a combination of human 3-dimensional microtissue assays, mouse models, and human clinical data. As part of the multidisciplinary group, talented individuals would have access to a world-class consortium of scientists with expertise spanning iPSc-based disease modeling; 3-dimensional organoids/microtissues assays; sarcomere biology and structure; genome editing/modulation with CRISPR, Zinc Fingers and TALE enzymes; as well as computational biology.

Postdoctoral Associate* Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, physiology, biomedical engineering, or related field of study.
• Prior research experience in at least two of the following areas: human pluripotent stem cell-based disease modeling, cardiac tissue engineering, cardiac physiology in rodent models, genome editing/modulation in vitro and in vivo , proteomics, and computational analyses of next generation sequencing assays such as RNA-seq and scRNA-seq.
• Candidates should have a publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
• Excellent writing and communication skills, able to work independently and effectively with other members in a productive team across continents.
• Experience with R, Python or similar statistical package is helpful, as well as experience with proteomics data analyses and bioinformatics.

Associate Research Scientist** Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, physiology, biomedical engineering, or related field of study.
• 3+ years of post-doctoral training is desirable
• Prior research experience in at least two of the following areas: pluripotent stem cell biology and disease modeling, cardiac physiology in rodent models, and genome editing/modulation in vitro and in vivo using AAVs or other delivery methods.
• Experience in single cell technologies for transcriptomics; flow cytometry (or other forms of cytometric analyses); cellular histology and confocal microscopy especially live-cell imaging; and AAV design, production and in vivo animal validation are particularly desirable skills.
• Experience with R, Python or similar statistical package is helpful, as well as experience with clustering, pathway, genetic and genomic data analyses and bioinformatics.
• Candidates should have a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
• Excellent writing and communication skills, able to work independently and effectively with other members in a productive team.
