This posting is for a full-time, limited Assistant Director of Student Life with an anticipated end date of June 30, 2026.Job DescriptionThe purpose of this position is to run, develop, coordinate andimplement all programs within the Student Life Department. These programs include a wide variety of campus-wide, social, cultural, and recreation activities providing students with anopportunity to integrate student life and academic pursuits.This position will serve as advisor to Student Government and the budget committee. They will also provide lead work to the Student Life Assistant, Event/Wellness Manager, Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches, as well as supervise student workers, in the absence of the Director of Student Life. The incumbent will be responsible for a budget of approximately $200,000 per fiscal year.Minimum Qualifications3 years of related work experience (Student Life, residential life, new student orientation, or Greek Life, etc); A Bachelor?s degree may substitute for 1 year of professional experienceDemonstrated ability to multi-task, think critically and problem solveStrong organizational, administrative, communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with othersDemonstrated ability to work autonomously and able to utilize excellent judgment in situations involving confidentiality and crisis situationsDemonstrated ability to effectively establish professional relationships and communicate with a diverse populationExperience in conflict resolution, mediation, and application of student development theoryExperience working with and addressing needs of a diverse student communityExperience planning events for large groups of peopleExperience developing and managing a budgetPreferred QualificationMaster's Degree in College Student Personnel, Educational Leadership or related fieldExperience working within Minnesota StateAbility to work evening and weekend hours as neededExperience with computer applicationsExperience serving as a coordinator or director for a large programKnowledge of State Statutes, applicable Minnesota State Board Policies to ensure compliance with the Office of Student Life and the CollegeWork Shift (Hours / Days of work)Monday - Friday; 7:30am - 4:00pm; Some evenings and weekends for eventsTelework (Yes/No)Based on the department needsAboutDakota County Technical College is focused on outstanding education for employment that emphasizes hands-on learning, serving students with a wide variety of diploma and degree programs.
