Mental Health Therapist

ORGANIZATION:

Established in 2009, Genesis Family Services is a comprehensive Behavioral Health Facility that provides a full range of mental health services to all ages. Servicing the South Florida community for over 12 years, we recognize the value of every person and are guided by our commitment to excellence and leadership.

The Mental Health Therapist provides counseling and psychotherapy services to children, adolescent, and adult clients and their families in our Plantation, Florida office AND via teletherapy. (Must reside in South Florida and be willing to see clients virtually A in the office)

The Mental Health Therapist position is an independent contractor position that can be full or part-time. We offer flexible/minimum 25 cases per week, practice management software for electronic documentation, a HIPAA compliant video and chat platform, insurance billing/credentialing services, and case consultation. You will build your caseload from our pool of clients with the added opportunity to select clients based on your area of expertise and skill.

Your primary responsibility is a commitment to excellence when counseling your clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Implement and maintain the Genesis Family Services program philosophy, core values, and procedures in all facets of performance.
• Support the Agency’s mission and sensitivity to cultural and workplace harmony.
• Provide services and conduct oneself in a manner consistent with the professional Code of Ethics.
• Provide therapy, counseling, intervention, and education to clients professionally.
• Provide clinically appropriate treatment based on mental health assessment and treatment plans.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation. Meet lawfully audited requirements.
• Assure continuous reimbursable sessions for assigned clients.
• Open to participating in development opportunities to enhance professional growth, especially to maintain license, certification, or identified program performance skills.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, or other related Mental Health field.
• Fully licensed or working towards licensure. (MFT, LMHC, LCSW).
• Registered intern number required if unlicensed (Please add to resume or cover letter).
• Maintain independent professional liability insurance.
• Have a reliable form of transportation.
• Ability to be flexible, especially with scheduling and site locations, and perform and prioritize multiple functions and tasks.

Preferred, but not Required:

• Full professional proficiency in Spanish is a plus but not required.
• Couples therapy experience.
• Two or more years of experience with child/adolescent therapy.
• Experience developing and reviewing treatment plans.
• Strong computer skills – familiarity with Electronic Health Records.

Independent Contractor Compensation: Hourly, based on licensure and experience level.
