Job Title : Mechanical Engineer for Food-Grade Liquid Processing System
Location: Culver City, CA
Employment Type : Contract / Part-Time

Position Summary:
Mechanical Engineer to assess, refine, and engineer for manufacturing our high-throughput food-grade spirits/wine processing system (1500+ GPH). Engineering responsibilities include; design welded stainless steel frame and case. Refine fluid flow system comprising Tri-Clamp fittings, valves, CIP, 1-2hp pumps, VFDs, air flow, pneumatics and wire management. SOLIDWORKS preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and improve the current system design, capable of handling a flow rate of 1500+ GPH, to ensure optimal performance, safety, and compliance with food industry standards.
• Transition the frame structure from T-slot aluminum to a welded stainless steel frame to increase system durability and meet sanitary requirements.
• Optimize the design of Tri-Clamp fittings, valves, CIP systems, and other sanitary components.
• Specify and integrate pumps (1-2 hp) with VFDs, ensuring precise control over fluid flow.
• Design efficient cable and wire management solutions, compatible with wet environments, explosion hazards, UL and food-grade requirements.
• Ensure proper integration of pneumatic components for safe and efficient operation.
• Conduct design revisions in SOLIDWORKS and generate all necessary engineering documentation and CAD files.
• Implement an Engineering Change Process.

Skills, Qualifications, Requirements:

• Proven experience with industrial-scale food or beverage processing systems.
• Expertise in welded stainless steel frame design and sanitary component integration.
• Strong proficiency in SOLIDWORKS.
• Experience with VFDs, pumps, pneumatic systems, and wire management for food processing environments.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and guidelines for equipment design.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $175.00 - $225.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 30 per week
