Akkodis is seeking a Mainframe Developer for a Contract with a client in Jersey City, NJ / Dallas, TX / Tampa, FL. Candidates must have strong proficiency in IBM Sterling ConnectDirect (NDM) and experience with zOS environments.
Rate Range: $49/hour to $53/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Mainframe Developer job responsibilities include:
Develop, maintain, and optimize mainframe applications within zOS environments to support business-critical processes.
Create and manage JCL scripts for batch processing, ensuring efficient and accurate execution of jobs.
Configure and monitor secure file transfers using IBM Sterling ConnectDirect (NDM) and related protocols like FTP/SFTP.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mainframe systems with applications such as CICS, DB2, and TCP/IP.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to mainframe operations, ensuring system reliability and performance.
Document processes and provide technical support for deployments and ongoing maintenance.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum 5–7 years of experience in mainframe development and support.
Strong proficiency in IBM Sterling ConnectDirect (NDM) and experience with zOS environments.
Solid knowledge of JCL, batch processing, and familiarity with file transfer protocols (FTP/SFTP) and related systems like CICS, DB2, and TCP/IP.
