Job Description

We are actively seeking an experienced Physician Assistant (PA) to join a high-performing Thoracic Surgery team in Bridgeport, Connecticut on a locums basis. This position offers the opportunity to assist in the OR, manage inpatient responsibilities, and provide outpatient clinical care. The ideal candidate will have Thoracic Robotic Surgery experience and be comfortable with a mix of minimally invasive lung and foregut procedures.

Position Overview:

Schedule:

·3–4 days per week

·Hours: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

·Optional weekend call (OR cases only)

Key Responsibilities:

First Assist in the OR, primarily on minimally invasive thoracic and foregut surgeries

Conduct pre- and post-operative care of thoracic patients

Manage inpatient responsibilities, including:

Rounding

Admissions

Discharges

Evaluate and manage patients in the outpatient clinic setting

Collaborate with attending thoracic surgeons and multidisciplinary team members

Requirements:

Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C)

Active Connecticut license (or ability to obtain)

Thoracic Robotic Surgery experience – Required

Strong clinical acumen in managing thoracic patients across pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases

Experience with minimally invasive thoracic surgery and foregut procedures preferred
