Experience Jackson Square Properties is seeking a candidate with five to seven years of multi-site Class A apartment management experience, with an emphasis on “lifestyle” living, to train to take the next step into Real Estate management.
Overview Based in San Francisco, Jackson Square Properties (JSP) is a private equity real estate investment company that specializes in multi-family properties. The company has grown to over seventy communities and 19,000 units. JSP focuses on the acquisition and management of large apartment complexes nationally. As a small entrepreneurial company, JSP will offer candidates the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of portfolio management.
Objectives The primary function of the Asset Manager is to assist in all aspects of the administrative, financial, capital and operations of the assigned portfolio. This role is based in San Francisco and will require part-time in office.
Essential Functions This position is dynamic and the role changes as the business and macro-economic conditions change. In general, the position is responsible for the following.
- Oversee third party property managers and portfolios.
- Ability to travel up to 30% of time in central/mountain and western United States.
- Propose goals and objectives for each property.
- Assist in the preparation and approval process of property operating budgets.
- Monthly, quarterly and annual reporting of the portfolio.
- Oversee the design and implementation of the Capital and Renovation plans for each region in conjunction with the in-house Construction Manager.
- Work with lenders to coordinate escrow draws, green repairs, benchmarking and required forms.
- Monthly review of operating statements.
- Assist in the due diligence and underwriting of potential acquisitions.
- Financial analysis, market studies and industry standard reporting (i.e. variance reporting, discounted cash flows, IRR's, etc.)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment which requires strong leadership, communication and decision-making skills.
- Strong independent work skills with the ability and tact to follow direction as given.
Contacts And Liaisons This position will come in contact with senior management, vendors, etc. Diplomacy, tact, and a helpful, positive, professional presentation and attitude are required. The correct individual will be self-motivated to fill downtime with learning about the existing portfolio, they will have a high level of integrity with both their time as well as with their mannerisms, they will have a personality that thrives in an unstructured environment that provides a variety of opportunities and responsibilities. Finally, the proper candidate must have the ability to listen and grow in a fast-paced environment.
Training & Education Bachelor's degree required with a concentration in business, finance, accounting and/or real estate.

Additional Considerations Jackson Square Properties is headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area and currently observes a hybrid work schedule. After an initial training period, remote work in Denver or Seattle areas may be considered.
