Job Description

American Heritage School is seeking a passionate and dedicated part-time (approximately 4 hours a week) High School Choir Conductor to inspire and lead our students in developing their musical talents and choral skills. The successful candidate will foster a love of music, help students improve their vocal technique, sight singing, and performance abilities, and enrich our vibrant school community through engaging rehearsals and performances.

• Lead weekly choir rehearsals, curriculum planning, and vocal coaching for students in grades 9-10.
• Prepare students for concerts, competitions, and other performances.
• Teach healthy vocal technique, sight singing, and performance skills.
• Select and introduce a varied choral repertoire that aligns with the school's artistic and educational goals.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and faith-based environment consistent with American Heritage School's values.
• Uphold the school's Mission, Honor Code, and Diversity Statement both on and off campus.
• Serve as a role model and ambassador for the school community.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• Minimum of two years' experience teaching choir, preferably in a formal high school setting.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for working with youth and a passion for teaching music.
• Ability to help students develop vocal technique, sight singing, and performance skills.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Willingness to serve as a positive representative of the school's mission and values.

Additional Requirements:

• A teaching demonstration may be required for top candidates.
• Prior experience in a faith-based or values-driven environment is preferred.

Please let us know if you have experience as a player or a coach in specific sports. AHS prefers to fill its extracurricular athletics coaching openings with employees (teachers, aides, etc.) who also have skills and interest in coaching athletics.
