Job Title: Healthcare Operations Manager (Lab)
Location: DeLand, FL (Onsite)
Schedule: Night Shift | Tuesday - Friday, 5 PM - 3 AM with rotating Saturdays every 12-13 weeks
Salary: $40 $60 per hour
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Bonus: Up to $10,500 annual bonus & $10,000 retention bonus
We are seeking a Healthcare Operations Manager (Lab) to oversee laboratory operations in Special Chemistry, Auto Chemistry, and Hematology Lab . This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with State and Federal regulations, CAP guidelines, and Quality Assurance standards . The Operations Manager will also lead laboratory teammates and ensure the efficient execution of laboratory workflows.
Key Responsibilities:Plan, organize, and supervise teammates to ensure high-quality customer service .
Manage employment activities, including hiring, promotions, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions .
Determine staffing plans to promote the most effective use of teammates, ensuring coverage during absences .
Oversee test result accuracy, reporting, and compliance with service line standards.
Apply clinical theoretical knowledge and scientific methods in problem-solving.
Monitor workflow and delegate responsibilities to laboratory team members.
Collaborate in quality improvement programs and evaluate key laboratory outcome indicators .
Manage financial metrics (budgets, P&L, operating and capital expenses).
Ensure laboratory sections are inspection-ready and compliant with regulatory requirements.
Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and exceed accreditation agency requirements.
Bachelor's Degree required.
6+ years of Healthcare Operations experience .
Florida Supervisor License in Special Chemistry, Auto Chemistry, and Hematology.
Certification by a professional laboratory certifying agency ( ASCP, AAB , or equivalent).
Proven ability to track and manage major Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) .
Demonstrated people leadership skills with a track record of mentorship and team development .
Operations Management experience in a healthcare or laboratory setting.
Previous Clinical Lab Experience .
Strong background in Hematology and Chemistry lab operations .
This role will oversee night shift teammates in both the Hematology and Chemistry departments , ensuring optimal laboratory operations and team leadership .
