Lenawee Christian Ministries provides a Christ-centered education, spiritual development, and social services to the Lenawee County community, centered around Jesus Christ.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a part-time Head Cook to join our vibrant school cafeteria team! This role is dedicated to serving healthy and delicious meals to our students, teachers, and families.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead by Example: As the Head Cook, you will oversee daily meal preparation, ensuring all procedures meet health and safety regulations.
Culinary Expertise: Prepare a variety of nutritious and appealing dishes, including entrees, sides, salads, and desserts, using various cooking techniques like baking, boiling, steaming, and batch cooking.
Food Safety Champion: Maintain the highest standards of hygiene and sanitation in the kitchen, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for staff and students.
Teamwork Makes the Dream Work: Collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff, cafeteria workers, and teachers to ensure meals are prepared and served according to the lunch schedule.
Communication is Key: Maintain clear and positive communication with your team and effectively resolve any issues that may arise.
Qualifications:
· Christian Faith:
o Profess and demonstrate a personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
o Adherence to Christian principles and values in both personal and professional life.
· Must possess a valid Food Handler's Certification.
· Proven experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with a team.
· A passion for providing a positive and welcoming environment for students and staff.
· Enjoys working with and fostering a positive relationship with children.
