Juniper, a cutting-edge lighting technology, design, and manufacturing company, seeks a committed General Custodian to join our expanding team in Southington, CT. You will perform general maintenance duties on all levels and spaces in this role. Your primary focus will be keeping our factory and grounds functional, aesthetically inviting, and safe. 

As a General Custodian at Juniper, you must pay strong attention to detail and be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized factory environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and full functionality of the factory and warehouse. Perform routine custodial duties, including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, surface cleaning, and sanitizing throughout the facility. 
• Help perform preventative maintenance on items throughout the factory (cleaning or replacing filters, operational checks on eye wash stations, and fire extinguishers). 
• Performs cleaning functions based on seasonal/project requirements (shoveling, grass care).
• Monitor and maintain department inventory. 
• Contribute ideas on ways to improve or optimize facility procedures.
• Provides support in other departments as requested. 

Minimum Requirements: 

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• At least two years of experience handling custodian duties. 
• Proficient knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components. 
• Strong time management skills. 
• Good organizational skills. 
• Excellent attention to detail. 
• Ability to work with minimal supervision

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended or continuous periods.
• Ability to climb staircases, ladders, and step stools. 
• Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, balance, and climb occasionally.
• Ability to operate machinery and associated equipment.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
