Job Title : Sit Down Forklift Operator

Pay Rate : $19/hour

Schedule : Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Location : Montgomery, IL 60538

Position Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Sit Down Forklift Operator to join our team. This position involves the operation of a sit-down forklift to assist in the loading and unloading of box trucks, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials within the warehouse or facility.

The ideal candidate will have experience with sit-down forklift operation, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate a sit-down forklift to load and unload box trucks with materials, ensuring proper placement of goods.
• Safely transport items to designated areas within the warehouse, yard, or facility.
• Assist with organizing inventory and ensuring products are correctly stored and secured.
• Check materials for damage or defects before moving or storing.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of goods in compliance with company safety standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by regularly inspecting and performing minor maintenance on the forklift.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding inventory, truck arrivals, and warehouse needs.
• Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed, including inventory counts and material handling.

Qualifications:

• 3 years previous experience operating a sit-down forklift in a warehouse, distribution, or similar environment.
• Valid forklift certification is highly desired (or ability to obtain one).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform manual labor as needed.
• Strong attention to safety procedures and attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of warehouse operations and inventory control.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and communicate effectively.
• Must be able to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time.
• Reliable and punctual with strong work ethic.
