BAE Systems, one of the world's leading defense contractors and a stable Fortune 500 Company, is hiring Explosive Plant Operators in the RDX Recrystallization area at the Holston Army Ammunition Plant in Kingsport, TN.

We are seeking detail oriented and highly motivated individuals to fill the role of Production Operator. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to monitoring equipment in operation buildings, weighing and sampling material, shoveling blend material, the use of respirator, packaging, drying and the transportation of material.

Physical Demands include: Working regularly with lightweight to average weight material. Handling up to sixty (60) pounds, maneuvering drums and climbing multiple levels of stairs.

Mental and/or Visual Demands: Frequent mental and visual attention, where the flow of work is intermittent or the operation involves waiting for a machine or process to complete and cycle, process checking.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Somewhat disagreeable working conditions, exposed to seasonal conditions, coveralls, safety shoes, plus other PPE required in areas. 12 hour rotating shifts.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Required education: High School/GED
Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment; Recrystallization process knowledge.
Excellent communication skills.
Strong work ethic and organizational skills.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Experience in inventory movement.

Experience working a 12-hour rotating shift.

Experience operating a PLC computer system.
Experience in RDX department

Fork truck experience.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $24800 - $43400

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
