Job Description

An Entry Level Structural Engineer job is currently available at Belcan in Windsor, CT. This is a full-time direct job with benefits. Great matching candidates will need a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. In this role, you will conduct structural analyses of a wide variety of component designs utilizing advanced analytical and CAD tools. This includes turbo machinery components, mechanical systems & controls, and tooling & instrumentation for commercial and military jet engines. Entry Level Structural Engineer job duties:

• Perform structural analyses using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and post-process results
• Provide technical recommendations for optimizing hardware designs and modeling approach
• Review structural test plans and reports
• Create and present substantiation documentation of analysis results
• Support data acquisition/ reduction of hardware vibration environment measurements
• Support hardware certification testing
• Review non-conformance/ damage reports
• Interface with customers, hardware suppliers, and participate in design reviews / trade studies

Requirements:

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or related field
• Zero to two years' experience
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• High proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Experience using FEA software like Ansys
• Due to the nature of our work *US CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED*

Desired, but not required skills:

• Experience using Ansys Workbench or Classic
• Experience evaluating stress and life of parts under vibration
• Experience performing fracture mechanics / damage tolerance analysis
• NASGRO experience
• Active Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain a plus

Compensation: We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary rate of $58,000 to $65,000 however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
