Job Description
A prominent law firm located in the heart of New Orleans, Louisiana that specializes in immigration law, personal injury, and workers' compensation is seeking a bilingual (Spanish and English) entry-level attorney who is passionate about helping clients navigate complex legal issues, particularly those related to immigration, personal injury, and workers' compensation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Represent clients in immigration, personal injury, and workers' compensation cases.
* Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including petitions, motions, briefs, and contracts.
* Assist in preparing and filing immigration petitions, applications, and appeals.
* Advocate on behalf of clients in hearings, court appearances, and mediations.
* Conduct client interviews, gather case information, and assess the merits of claims.
* Provide clear, timely, and compassionate legal advice to clients, especially those with limited English proficiency.
* Review and interpret workers' compensation claims and personal injury cases, ensuring compliance with relevant state and federal laws.
* Communicate with opposing counsel, court officials, and other stakeholders as necessary.
* Work closely with senior attorneys on case preparation and legal strategy development.
* Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines at all times.
Qualifications:
* Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
* Licensed to practice law in Louisiana (must be admitted to the Louisiana State Bar or eligible to be admitted).
* Bilingual in Spanish and English, with the ability to communicate fluently in both languages (spoken and written).
* Passion for helping individuals and families with immigration, personal injury, and workers' compensation issues.
* Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
* Excellent verbal communication and client-relations skills.
* Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
* Eagerness to learn and grow in a supportive and dynamic legal environment.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* High level of professionalism and commitment to delivering quality legal services.
