Responsibilities:
Teach both theoretical and practical aspects of cosmetology, including hair styling, cutting, coloring, makeup application, skincare, nail care, and more.
Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum goals and meet industry standards.
Demonstrate and guide students through hands-on techniques in a classroom and salon environment.
Offer personalized support and guidance to help students overcome challenges and reach their full potential.
Assess student progress through practical exams, assignments, and other evaluation methods.
Keep accurate records of student attendance, grades, and overall progress.
Stay up to date on industry trends, techniques, and regulations to ensure that your teaching remains relevant and current.
Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that fosters both student success and personal growth.
Collaborate with fellow instructors and staff to enhance the overall educational experience.
Participate in ongoing professional development to continuously improve teaching techniques and industry knowledge.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
At least 3 years of professional experience in the cosmetology industry.
A valid cosmetology license in the state in which you'll be teaching.
A current Instructor license.
Strong technical skills in hair, makeup, skincare, and nail care.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students and colleagues.
A passion for education and the ability to motivate and inspire students.
Up-to-date knowledge of current industry trends, techniques, and best practices.
Patience and empathy when working with a diverse student population.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially when managing records.
Flexibility to adapt to changing curriculum and industry needs.
Previous teaching experience is a plus but not required.
Basic computer skills are necessary.
Hours and Availability:
Day and evening positions available, with the option for a partial work-from-home/remote schedule.
