**Job Title:** W2 Financial Services Litigation Contract Attorney (Full-time/Part-time)
**Location:** Downtown Pittsburgh, PA (Hybrid Schedule: 4 days remote, 1 day onsite as needed)
**Pay Rate:** $35-$45/hour (commensurate with experience)
**Duration:** Six-month project with potential for extension
**Availability:** Must be available to start within two weeks
**About the Role:**
We are seeking a skilled and motivated **Financial Services Litigation Contract Attorney** to join a dynamic legal team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on high-profile cases involving financial institutions, regulatory proceedings, and complex litigation. The position is hybrid, allowing for a flexible schedule with four days remote and one day onsite as needed. This is a six-month project with the potential for extension, making it an excellent opportunity for attorneys seeking both short-term and long-term engagements.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Assist in litigation and enforcement proceedings for financial institutions, including regulatory and administrative matters.
- Manage consumer class action cases involving bank and financial services practices.
- Draft pleadings, briefs, motions, and other legal documents, and oversee discovery and case management.
- Collaborate with a team of experienced litigators to leverage expertise in financial services laws and litigation.
- Represent clients in proceedings before regulatory agencies such as the Federal Reserve, FDIC, OCC, CFPB, and FTC.
**Qualifications:**
- Must be licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and reside within commuting distance of downtown Pittsburgh.
- 2+ years of recent experience in a busy U.S. law firm.
- 2+ years of experience in financial services litigation, including regulatory proceedings, complex private litigation, and consumer class actions.
- Strong knowledge of financial services laws and litigation, including:
- Fair lending and anti-discrimination laws (Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Fair Housing Act)
- Credit card fees and disclosures (Truth in Lending Act)
- Mortgage origination and servicing practices (Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, TILA)
- Federal interest rate preemption (exportation doctrine)
- Unfair, deceptive, or abusive acts and practices, and false advertising
- Enforceability and applicability of arbitration agreements
- Commercial disputes involving financial institutions
- Anti-money laundering
- License proceedings in foreign sanctions cases
- Exceptional advocacy, communication, and writing skills.
- Tech-savvy with experience in trial preparation and case management.
