Job Title: Pharmacy Technician

Schedule:
Night Shift: 4:30 PM – 1:00 AM
Every Other Weekend: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Mandatory Overtime: Required for night shifts and weekends
Position Summary – Pharmacy Floor Technician
This contract-to-hire position supports pharmacy operations by accurately picking, labeling, scanning, and preparing prescription orders for final pharmacist verification. The Pharmacy Technician ensures efficient workflow, maintains compliance with regulations, and contributes to a safe and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately and efficiently fill daily medication orders under pharmacist supervision.
Process returned medications and handle recycling/disposal according to procedures.
Pre-pack frequently ordered medications, label, and store as needed during low-volume periods.
Manually package materials and products for distribution.
Pull/pick medications from shelves and other storage areas (including prepack racks).
Apply labels to blister cards and scan products to ensure accuracy.
Notify the on-duty pharmacist of any medication or product that does not scan properly.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned workstations.
Replenish stock and supply inventory as needed.
Adhere to all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA.
Work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required.
Comply with departmental policies, including safety, attendance, and dress code.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work at a consistent, moderate pace.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Must possess and maintain a clear and active Pharmacy Technician license, except in New York State where a license is not required .
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous pharmacy technician experience.
Physical Demands:
May sit, stand, bend, stoop, and walk intermittently throughout the day.
May be required to sit or stand for 7–10 hours per shift.
Ability to work extended hours as needed.
Finger dexterity required for operating office and pharmacy equipment.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Visual acuity required for reading fine print, including close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to hear and respond to normal voice communication.
