  • Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience preferred; prior school bus experience a strong plus.

  • Comfortable driving in varying weather and traffic conditions.

  • Ability to pass a DOT physical exam, pre-employment drug test, and periodic random drug tests.

  • Must pass background checks, including criminal history and child abuse/sex offender registry checks, per school district requirements.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; patient and compassionate when working with children and families.

  • Able to read maps, follow GPS/route directions, and use basic electronic logging and communication devices.

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with local school pick-up/drop-off protocols and campus traffic patterns.

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is an advantage for communication with families.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.

  • Frequent entering/exiting the vehicle, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs (e.g., assisting with bags/wheelchairs when required).

  • Good hearing and vision (corrective lenses acceptable).

  • Typical schedule: Morning and afternoon routes, Monday Friday (hours vary based on routes; early start times required).

  • Overtime and occasional weekend or evening work for events/field trips may be required.
