Verde Canyon Railroad in Clarkdale, AZ is looking for one cafe lead to join our 23 person strong team. We are located on 300 N Broadway. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, punctual, and hard-working.

Responsibilities

The café supervisor is the heart of the success of the food and beverage operation at VCRR. The Cafe lead is the supervisors right hand.

Nature of Work:

The café lead works directly with the Operations manager and Cafe supervisor. He or she oversees high-quality food and beverages to be served to the railroad’s guests. The train appetizers and the Copper Spike Café entrees need to mimic the beauty of the ride through the canyon.

In addition to ordering product and managing costs, the café lead must maintain a clean and safe workplace while building a strong team. Enforcing rules, guidelines and health code regulations in a friendly environment are crucial to the success of this segment of the business.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Must be at least 21 years of age

· High school graduate or equivalent; college or culinary degrees preferred

· Minimum five (5) years supervisory experience in food and beverage service

· Pass a drug screening and background check

· Able to lift at least 50 lbs. without assistance

Requirements:

· Manager’s Food Handler’s certification

· Manager’s alcohol certification

· Food and Beverage knowledge

· CPR certified

· Knife skills

· Excel, Word and POS (Revel) knowledge

· Manage food cost and menu creation

· Manage catering and special events

· Manage monthly inventory

· Ability to work weekends, holidays and flexible days to match the train schedule

· Responsible, reliable team player

· Money and time management

· Training of all café staff and bartenders

Scope of Work, but not limited to:

· Opening café

· Placing orders

· Monthly inventory

· Catering events

· Menu pricing and creating

· Managing all employees in department; keeping them on track and focused

· Ensuring all guidelines and safety procedures are being fallowed

· Scheduling

· Food safety and sanitization

· Create cleaning check lists

Classification: Non-exempt, hourly, full-time

• Work Week: 32+ hours in a 40-hour work week in an 80-hour pay period
