CAD Drafter / Designer

St. Paul , MN | Contract to Hire | $22 - $28/hour | 100% On-site

Konik is partnering with a construction services company seeking a detail-oriented CAD Drafter / Designer to support engineering and project teams by producing accurate formwork and shoring drawings. In this drafting-centric role, you will translate engineered designs into clear construction documents and material lists using AutoCAD and Revit. You will collaborate with engineers, sales teams, customers, and vendors to ensure drawings reflect project requirements and field conditions. This position is ideal for someone who excels in technical drafting, enjoys problem-solving, and values accuracy and safety in every detail.

CAD Drafter / Designer Responsibilities:  

• Develop formwork and shoring layout drawings based on engineered designs, manufacturer’s load sheets, and project specifications.
• Draft clear, accurate construction documents and prepare associated equipment/material lists.
• Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure design intent and project goals are met.
• Communicate with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to support project coordination.
• Participate in occasional jobsite visits to understand field conditions and support layout accuracy.
• Provide responsive support and maintain high drafting standards to ensure safe, efficient project delivery.

CAD Drafter / Designer Qualifications:  

• AAS degree in Architectural or Engineering Drafting
• 1-4 years of relevant drafting experience in structural engineering or building construction
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and related documents.
• Strong math skills (algebra), attention to detail, and organizational abilities.
• Proficient with Revit and AutoCAD; working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• General understanding of concrete construction, construction methods, and structures
