Job Description

POSITION GOAL

To monitor and assure the proper operation of the school's mechanical systems, and to provide optimum building services in all areas of the plant such as electrical, electronic, air conditioning, plumbing, hardware, carpentry, grounds, sprinklers, preventative maintenance and minor repairs; understand and practice energy conservation; to keep the school furniture, equipment and utility systems in the proper working condition; as well as direct and participate in the cleaning, orderliness appearance, safe conditions and upkeep of the school in a responsible and accurate manner.

ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved General Educational Development (GED) Testing Program.
• Ten (10) years of successful work experience beyond an apprenticeship in the management of building systems in commercial, institutional or educational projects of similar complexity.
• OR
• Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in Building Construction, Building Management and/or Operations, or related field.
• Eight (8) years of successful work experience in the management of building systems in commercial, institutional or educational projects of similar complexity.
• OR
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Building Construction, Building Management and/or Operations, or related field.
• Five (5) years of successful work experience in the management of building systems in commercial, institutional or educational projects of similar complexity.
• Ability to coordinate all related aspects of the job performance responsibilities to operate all systems in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with any applicable contract documents and School Board policies, codes, or regulations.
• Computer skills as required for the position.
